How do plants affect the water cycle?

Give some benefits and effects plants have on the water cycle.

  1. Plants role in the water cycle is transpiration. Plants are important to the water cycle because they absorb ground water with their stems and return it through their leaves. A benefit would be that the water they collect is used in photosyntehsis. A effect would be when water returns to the atmosphere by evaportion plants add moisture to many enviornments.

  2. The water taken up by the plants will be used in photosynthesis and respiration and this is a significant amount, considering the number of trees present in a forest. The water will eventually be passed out from the leaves of the plants as water vapor. This can be influenced by the amount of light received, the intensity of the light received, the humidity levels, temperature and so on.

Plants also help to bind soil and prevent erosion and landslides from occurring during heavy downpours.

  3. If we had no plants the water cycle would have no where to asborb the water on the ground to make new precipitation. If we dont have rain they the plants wouldn't live to asborb it. Studies have revealed that about 10 percent of the moisture found in the atmosphere is released by plants through trenspiration. The remaining 90 percent is mainly supplied by evaporation from oceans, seas, and other bodies of water.

  4. Plants take up some of the water used in the water cycle, and they also perform transpiration. Transpiration is a very important part of the water cycle, and without it, it would not be complete. Transpiration helps with precipitation, because it is the evaporation of water from plants.

  5. Plants are important to the water cycle because the absorb a lot of the water produced in either precipation, evaporation or ground water. The plants need water to live just like us humans. Transpiration is also a huge step in the water process that wouldn't even be a part if it weren't for plants.

  6. Every part of our water cycle is equally important, and without one part, it wouldn't work the same. Transpiration can only be done through plants so because of this, plants have a big effect on water. Through transpiration, water gets absorbed into the plants. Without transpiration, it would take longer for evaporation to occur. This helps us see that every part of the water cycle is important and relys on each other.

  7. From the water cycle, plants get the water that they need to survive. Without water from the water cycle we couldn't supply our plants with a drink. This is because the workload would be too great. Plants help to complete a step of the water cycle. This is called transpiration. Transpiration occurs when plants absorb some of the water.

  8. Plants have a big part in the water cycle! In the water cycle, plants transpire. Transpiration is the process by which plants lose water out of their leaves. Transpiration gives evaporation a bit of a hand in getting the water vapor back up into the air. Plants transpire to move nutrients to the upper portion of the plants and to cool the leaves exposed to the sun

  9. Plants have a very important part in the water cycle. They provide transporation, transporation is a process when ground water gets absorbed into the roots of the trees. Then the water is evaporated out of there leaves.
