Ive always hated thunderstorms. Something about the noise they make and all the rain they bring just freaks me out. I remember this one thunderstorm that I think was the worst one ever! The day started out nice and as it got later the sky grew darker and it got colder. Out of no where I hear a big boom sound and it starts pouring! Multiple booms and bangs led to the lights going out. I could even see the flashes of lightning in the skye. After about 30 minutes of this everything calmed and it was over.
I've always like thunderstorms. Watching the lightning and hearing the thunder is exciting to me (unless im sleeping). The one thing I absolutely hate about the thunderstorms is tornadoes. I remember the worst thunderstorm I have ever seen. It was on Mother's Day a couple of years ago. The lightning was flashing constantly, and the thunder was super loud! There was tornado warnings all around us. I was so terrified that I was shaking and crying. Other than the really bad storms, I like thunderstorms.
It's cool to watch thunderstorms in the distance before it starts raining. I hate when your power goes out because of lightning. One time when I got home from a baseball game while going inside a lightning bolt struck right behind my neighbors house scareing the heck out of me. Lightning is cool from a distance. Sometimes thunderstorms can be damaging but not always.
I really like thunderstorms unless the lightning gets too bad. The reason that I like them is because I think they are relaxing and cool to watch. However, lightning scares me because when it's really bad, I'm scared that it will hit my house and catch it on fire. I remember one time in elementary school, there was a horrible thunderstorm that made the power go out at J.C. Sawyer. Because of this, everyone got to go home early. I love when the power goes out at school; I think it's fun and funny!
Thunderstorms used to be a huge deal to me when I was in first, second and third grade. You can ask anyone from my third grade class at Weeksville Elementary School I had the worst experience with a thunderstorm. The sky was dark gray and the blinds were wide open so you could see everything that was happening outside, I already could tell that there was a terrible storm about to hit us and I knew I was gonna freak out, quick. The wind started going and I just started crying my eyes out because I knew it was gonna be bad, I started demanding for my teacher to get my mom on the phone so I could leave that terrible classroom that I had to watch the storm from! My teacher ended up getting my mom on the phone and she came and got me from school. Now that I think of it, the storm wasn't even that bad..
Thunderstorms used to frighten me tremendously. I hated the sudden clash of thunder that vibrated the house, and next the sharp blur of blue or yellow lightening stripe that interrupted the sky. One of my most memorable experiences in a thunderstorm happened a few years back. I happened to be in pre-k, and my mother had just dropped me off. I sat in class and managed to make it through the lesson. When nap time arrived, I totally freaked out. I could see the lightening inside of the classroom, and the vibration only increased my heart rate. I began to cry (embarrassing), while all of my peers were looking at me so attentively. Now that I’m older, I’ve learned how to cope with my fear and sleep through the beautiful calmness of nature while the thunderstorms are taking place.
Thunderstorms have always been fun to watch, but never to sleep through. Especially when Erick wakes me up to say, "Hey Aleck, there's a thunderstorm." The most memorable storm I remember, was when a lightning bolt struck a tree behind my neighbors house. This was very close to my house, and was odd that it had didn't hit any other objects. I later figured out that lighting usually strikes the tallest objects first, because it is an easier path to the ground.
When I was 10 I played for a softball travel team and we never stopped games for weather, and I mean never. It was during the summer and there was going to be a big front coming through. We started the game with just alittle rain, but it soon turn into a full thunderstorm and I was up to bat (with a metal bat). I was scared to death and that event only has made me terrified of thunderstorms even til this day.
I remember one time, a few years back, when we had a terrible thunderstorm. It was a hot and beautiful day and then all of a sudden the sky turned pitch black. I was extremely scared on that afternoon.
I love most any thunderstorms and usually will try to go outside if any start to occur. I usually can't go outside but when I can I enjoy watching the bolts of lightning when they occur as well. I have yet to really have a bad experience with thunderstorms and my favorite time was once when we were heading to my grandparents house and while we were in Flint a bolt of lightning went off really close and my Grandma was so surprised even though she saw it happen. I find thunderstorms very calming and usually have no issue sleeping during them either.
I hate all storms. Thunder storms are the worst my dog freaks out and so do I. At my old house we had a big tree in our back yard. We heard a huge crack noise so we looked outside and the tree was on fire and cut in half. It was very shoking to see that massive tree be cut in half.
I actually love thunderstorms. They are interesting to watch and I can normally sleep through them, which is really nice. One time I was at my grandmother's house and the power went out, so we all sat in her living room watching the lightning over the pond. It looked really cool, especially over water.
